The HP vs17e is an adequate LCD monitor for basic home and office use. While this computer monitor does not have many fancy extras it will suffice for regular use. It includes the standard 500:1 contrast ratio, 8ms response time and 300 cd/m2 brightness.
The HP vs17e is one of the few monitors we reviewed that included built–in speakers and a headphone jack. It has plug–and–play installation, a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024 and uses 16 million colors. It also includes a Kensington lock slot and is Energy Star compliant using 45W while running and 2W in sleep mode.
This monitor only uses VGA analog inputs and does not include digital DVI–D. While analog is standard among LCD monitors, it is becoming more common and useful for monitors to have both analog and digital inputs. Additionally, this monitor is not MAC compatible.
